Overview
Pin.Co is a location tracking app that is meant to keep users safe while informing designated contacts about their situation and exact location.
Not knowing a loved one’s whereabouts for an extended period of time could be a very stressful situation. This feeling appears whenever a relative, friend or a child goes missing or fails to check in. In addition, people who are concerned for their own safety when traveling alone or when they find themselves in an unfamiliar area need a way to increase their sense of security.
The Problem
For our wireframes we wanted to prioritize ease-of-use and clarity of features. This would allow the users to quickly and easily use the app, therefore, increasing the sense of security while using it.
Wireframes
Our solution was to give our users features that will surely increase their sense of security while being outside. These are Pin.Co’s features:
Solution
Location Sharing
This features allows users to share their current location in real time. The user will have to designate the contacts that will receive the notification in advance.
Check-In
The ‘Check-in’ feature allows the user to set an alarm before going outside. If the alarm is not disabled on or before the time set, the user’s designated contacts will receive a notification alert.
Call Simulation
This feature offers users the chance to play one pre-recorded audio that will be used to simulate a real-time phone conversation. This feature is meant to be used as a deterrent to potential aggressors.
SOS Button
As the name suggests, the SOS button is meant to be pressed under an emergency and it will automatically trigger a notification to your designated emergency contact’s device.
Contact
The ‘Contact’ feature allows the user to add, edit or remove contacts from their account. Additionally, the user will be able to choose who his/her emergency contacts are.
